Do not leave the animal belonging to a Jew lying overburdened by its load and walk away without helping to unload the animal.

“You shall not see your brothers donkey or ox fallen down by the way and hide yourself from them, you shall help lift with him” Devarim 22:4

If the owner walked away and sat down saying, “it’s your mitzvah if you wish to unload, then unload”- you would then be exempt from unloading as it says “with him’ Bava Metzia 32a

This applies everywhere and always , for both men and women.

Do not leave the animal belonging to a Jew lying overburdened by its load and walk away without helping to unload the animal.
