Do not make enquiry of an ov (-170) nor a yidoni (-171)

​

 “There shall not be found amongst you….one that consults an ov/medium or yidoni/wizard” Devarim 18: 10-11

If someone transgressed and consulted a medium or wizard, he should receive a lashing for disobedience but not regular lashes as he did no physical action.

If he did some action as a result of these enquiries he is liable for regular lashes.

This applies in all places at all times for men and women.
