Do not make stone paving in order to bow down upon it, even to the blessed God.

“You shall not place any stone paving in your land to bow down upon it” Vayikra 26: 1

If someone bowed down upon it spreading his hands and feet in prostration to God, he should be given lashes.

If it was without spreading his hands and feet he should receive lashes for disobedience.

If he bowed down upon it in idol worship with or without such prostration, he deserves death by stoning.

In a synagogue paved with stones it is required to place mats or straw and stubble upon the ground.

This applies in all places at all times for men and women.

Do not make stone paving in order to bow down upon it, even to the blessed God.
