Do not replicate the composition of the incense
“The incense…its composition do not make for yourselves…. whoever makes any like it to savour its scent will be cut off” Shmoth 30: 37-38
Even if a person did not make the full quantity but only half or a third since he formulated it according to the ratio of the ingredients he deserves spiritual severance.
If done unwittingly a sin offering is required.
If he made it with the intention of savouring its scent, even if he did not actually smell it, he is still guilty.
If he made it to learn he is free of penalty.
This applies in all places at all times for men and women.
