Kohen is not to marry a zonah

“A woman that is a zonah …they shall not take” Vayikra Emor 21:7

The term zonah in the Torah means anyone who is not a Jewish woman,

or a Jewish woman who was sexually intimate with a man she is forbidden to marry,

or one who was sexually intimate with a profaned Kohen even though she is permitted to marry him.

Even if she was intimate through rape or unnatural union she would become a zonah

If someone was sexually intimate with an unmarried woman, although she a harlot since she has made herself available to all,

or he is sexually intimate with a women defiled by menstruation

or had intimacy with an animal –she would not be considered a zonah.

This applies in all places at all times.
