Now is a good time to do a Mitzvah
+ Positive Mitzvah

Count seven complete weeks from the day the Omer was brought in the Temple.
“You will count ……the Omer (sheaf of waving) for seven complete weeks”. Vayikra 23:15
The Mitzvah is to count the days in addition to the weeks.
As it says “You shall count fifty days” Vayikra 23:16
We start the counting from the night of the sixteenth of Nissan and the counting requires a blessing (benediction)
If counted with no blessing, he has fulfilled the Mitzvah.
We count while standing but if he counted when sitting he has fulfilled the Mitzvah.
This applies in all places at all times for men but not women.
